About twenty years ago I made these recordings of some of the Psalms for someone who was going through a very rough time. I also shared them with my spiritual director, who then gave them to many of her other directees over time. She told me that she thought there was an “anointing” on them, that they had helped soothe a considerable number of people.
Since then I have shared them with only a few, in large part because I do not have rights to the music that is used for their backgrounds. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to get permission to use them, but I cannot get even as much as a response. As a result, I’ve been reluctant to put them out here for public consumption. However, given the difficult times facing us and the disquiet they are causing me and a great many others, I thought it time to risk it. If you find the combination of nature sounds and music that are the background to these songs helpful, they are called “Solitudes” and they are by Dan Gibson. Here is a link to his YouTube channel.
But here are the Psalms that I have recorded. They are not all of equal quality. I learned as I went along. Even so, I hope that they bless some of you.
Psalm 91 (My first recording, and even though I lacked a “pop shield” and some recording skills, it remains my favorite)
